Captivated by nature

           In harmony with our land

We feel captivated by the land, its roots, its power and energy... We admire its endless wisdom, respecting its timing and learning from its rhythms and life cycles. Thus, our fundamental ambition is to live in harmony with nature, protecting it, looking after it and caring for it, to preserve it for the future.

The value of knowing how to wait for excellence

In harmony with our land

From its location in the Ribera del Duero, an area of community interest for the European Union, the estate is managed from a prism of absolute respect for the environment and surroundings. A series of targets has been set that range from enhancing the natural system and the different habitats of the estate to a system to prevent forest fires, and including managing the vines in a way that is adapted to the soil and climate of the area or planting oak and cork woodland.

As regards the wine-growing area, special mention should be made of solely organic fertilization of the land, of the absence of herbicides and of the rational fight against plagues and diseases based on biological fighting techniques.

As regards the winemaking facilities and processes, the buildings strictly comply with the most rigorous international environmental standards (ISO 14001). The sewage is thus separated from the waste water originated from the different cleaning and disinfection tasks and they never come into contact with each other in order to avoid possible contaminations.

Furthermore, all the solid waste from the plastic used to wrap the different raw material used (barrels, bottles, plant health products, etc.) or paper (packaging boxes) are compacted and deposited at a waste recycling facility until they are collected by specialized treatment companies.

As an additional feature, all the sawdust from manufacturing the barrels undergoes a compacting process to produce briquettes that can be used for home heating. The wood from pruning the vines in winter is also collected by a machine that turns them into bales of prunings that will end up as embers to cook chops in many local grill-houses.
